Due to rapid growth, we're excited to announce our new Team Leader in Training program. Starting at the end of January, Team Leaders in Training will have the opportunity to learn the industry through classroom, workshop and on-the-job training.

This is an excellent opportunity to start a new career in the Traffic Control industry. Team Leaders in Training pay rate starts at $17.83. After successful completion of the training program and promotion to a Team Leader role, the pay rate will be $21.08. Benefits are provided through the Union after 90 days. 

 

 Minimum Requirements:

  •        Team/Crew Lead experience in a similar industry (i.e. construction, landscaping, other outdoor work)
  •        Grade 12 or equivalent
  •        Valid Class G license with a clean abstract
  •        Ability to drive a variety of different types of light duty trucks
  •        Knowledge of the GTA
  •        Must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English
  •        Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  •        Must have consistent and reliable access to a phone in order to communicate with the Company (incoming and outgoing calls) regarding work schedules and site assignments
  •        Knowledge of Book 7, CVOR, OHSA a definite asset

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •        Communicate with Supervisors/Operations Manager daily regarding work assignments
  •        Coordinate work of up to 3 Traffic Technicians and Crash Truck Drivers
  •        Read traffic control plans and receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  •        Perform lane closures/set up and take down
  •        Control traffic flow in construction areas
  •        Securely loads finished highway signs on trailer for delivery to job site.
  •        Perform sign installation on highways
  •        Maintain necessary paperwork

 

Working Conditions:

  •        Outdoor work environment in a variety of weather conditions
  •        Standing for extended periods of time
  •        Hours and/or work assignment may be changed based on operational needs. We are a seven day a week operation, so weekends and holiday work may be required.
  •        Works under general supervision on assigned tasks
